Smart Solar-Powered Compacting Bins

Solar compacting containers for mixed municipal waste. A solar panel charges a battery, which drives an electric motor that compacts the waste. The container is still online and provides data on the waste level.

Project

As part of a six months pilot project, up to 30 waste containers were placed in public areas in the centre of Prague. On the basis of the subsequent evaluation, Prague City Hall may expand or modify the project.
