CycloCounters are sensors that measure the intensity of cycling traffic in Prague and provide useful real-time data about the load on cycle paths. However, each sensor needs regular maintenance and therefore needs to be checked for proper functioning. This includes regular check-ups, which the OICT Smart Prague team ensured not only during this December.
For the check-up, sensors were selected at selected locations and cyclists rode by within their range so that the passages of cyclists could be manually recorded. The observed data was then compared with the data sent to the database by the sensor at the same time as the manual count. In this way, the quality of both the acquired data and the correct functioning of the sensor was verified.
