Mutual support in the field of urban innovation, especially in terms of smart and sustainable mobility. This is the theme of the long-term cooperation that the representatives of the Prague municipal company Operátor ICT (OICT) and the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FTS CTU) agreed on.
The memorandum was signed on Tuesday, September 20 by Ondřej Přibyl, Dean of the CTU Faculty of Transportation Sciences, and Petr Suška, Director of the Smart City, Innovation and Project Management Department of OICT. The agreement promises more effective cooperation in the preparation of joint international projects, mutual sharing of experience with urban innovation projects and the possibility of involving PhD students.
"This type of mutual cooperation is particularly valuable and desirable and beneficial for all partners. For example, the OICT can provide the university with data and information on real problems in the urban environment that should encourage further research. On the other hand, from FTS CTU we will gain knowledge and analytical competences that are then applicable in practice. Together, we will then map foreign solutions and trends and involve students in solving specific urban challenges. We will participate in the preparation and implementation of research and innovation projects, and we will intensify our participation in international cooperation projects," says Petr Suška.
The memorandum also includes cooperation in the field of technology transfer, sharing information on available technologies, capacities and new trends, cooperation in testing new technologies and solutions in real city conditions and the development of the "urban laboratory" model, e.g. within the Smart European project ecosystem. All this with the involvement of students and young researchers.
