The Prague Innovation Marathon Nakopni Prahu 2024 has moved to the next stage. On Tuesday, April 30, the expert jury announced the ten teams that will advance to the finals of the 5th year of the marathon. The final will take place on June 19, 2024, when we will award the 3 best teams whose innovative projects will receive financial and project support to launch ideas that will improve life in the Czech capital.

"This year we definitely had a lot to choose from in the Nakopni Prahu Innovation Marathon, which for the fifth time is giving the public a unique opportunity to actively participate in the development of our city. Projects that have a real potential to move the capital city forward, for example, in the areas of intergenerational housing, support for volunteering or the digitisation of architectural competitions, have made it to the finals. The people of Prague are clearly interested in getting involved in solving the challenges facing the Czech capital, and that's great," said Daniel Mazur, one of the judges of the competition and a councillor for ICT, Smart City, Science, Research and Innovation.

The finalists, who were selected on the basis of innovation potential, contribution to the city and feasibility of their ideas, were chosen by a jury of experienced specialists and experts in the needs of the capital. Among the members of the expert jury, alongside councillor Daniel Mazur, there was also David Procházka, a Prague councillor and start-up entrepreneur, Petr Suška and Iva Seigertschmidová, members of the OICT board of directors, Radim Vysloužil, deputy director of the Prague municipal company ROPID, and Bára Pelcová from the prg.ai association.

"I am glad that thanks to Nakopni Prahu we at OICT can accompany such a wide range of projects on their way to implementation: from digital platforms to social innovations. The ten best teams that advance further now have a unique opportunity to continue working on their projects with professional mentoring before they present their ideas in person at the June finals," adds Petr Suška, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of OICT, which organizes the Nakopni Prahu innovation marathon together with the Prague City Council.

Among the ten teams that made it to the final from more than 40 submitted projects are:

HELP (YOURSELF) - a platform for promoting volunteering
